Grants
The Mini-Grants Program is at the heart of A-REF. This past year we were able to provide nearly $5,500 in grants, ranging from $250 to $1000. These included great programs like:
- The “Natural Treasures” program, which brings together elementary students, senior citizens and community partners to explore the natural beauty of our area.
- The ARMS Speakers for the Arts Series, a series of presentations by locals who make their living in music, graphic arts, sculpture and sports.
- A class set of books and a series of visits by a local novelist for the high school English classes, which provided opportunities to explore the writing and publishing process as well as the content to discuss issues pertinent to youth living in Massachusetts mill towns.
